Prelude Abstracts・前奏曲抄

(Saburō Takata・高田三郎 | Akira Nogami・野上彰)

Ellen Tan x Hibiki

前奏曲抄 - Prelude Abstract is a song cycle composed by Saburo Takata (1931-2000). The series of short animation clips designed by Ellen Tan in this collaboration follow Akira Nogami’s (1909-1967) poetry during the avant-garde time period. Inspired by themes of hope and freedom, the illustrations feature moments from a memoir of a young girl living in the aftermath of World War II, giving light to memories and emotions within life that remain universally relevant in today’s time. We follow her glimpses of memories as she longs to see the ones she cares for.
